The San Andreas Department of Forestry and Fire Protection joined the San Andreas Park Rangers and the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department in the 1st Annual Wildlife Picnic, which took place on August 19th to commemorate the grand opening of the new Mount Chilliad Visitor's Centre. As part of this event, the San Andreas Department of Forestry and Fire Protection attended to highlight the numerous career prospects we offer as well as give a general overview over our different divisions and our mission.

San Fire's mission is to uphold & enforce the Fire and Health and Safety Code within the State of San Andreas. By attending events such as the Wildfire Picnic, we aim to take a proactive approach in handling potential accidental fires such as wildfires - where many are caused by incorrect disposal of disposable barbecues and flammable trash - by providing safety information to members of the public and raising awareness on the dangers that could cause a fire.

The San Andreas Sheriff's Department & San Andreas Park Rangers had their own booths set-up and were providing their own recruitment & departmental information, along with our canines which we allowed members of the public to hand treats to.

During the event, Deputy Fire Marshals handed out Wildfire prevention leaflets containing detailed information on Wildfire statistics, as well as charity Captain San teddy bears to members of the public. They also put effort into informing citizens about what the Department's mission and the various career opportunities our Department offers.

"The Recruitment Bureau is thankful to have been invited to participate in such a beautiful event. In recent months, the relations between Park Rangers and Fire Marshals have only strengthened and we hope to cooperate more in the future. Moreover, the event gave our Department the chance to engage with the local and tribal community, as well as inform the public of the different career opportunities our Department offers." - Aoife Voss, Recruitment Officer of the SANFIRE Recruitment Bureau said in a request for comment to the SANFIRE Public Relations Bureau

The Park Rangers opened up their brand-new diner, serving a wide variety of food & drinks, along with hosting various games and stalls - including a free raffle for an ATV. Following that, the Visitor's Center was inaugurated with a ribbon cutting ceremony, with Ranger Carter having the honor of cutting the ribbon.

In another statement Assistant Director of Public Relations Alex Jorgensen remarked; "SAPR's Wildlife Picnic is one example of many events we've taken part in over the course of the year to strengthen our bond with our partner agencies, with the likes of State Parks being our closest agency in terms of working together - Liaison with our sister agencies and State partners is something our Bureau of Public Relations has always prided itself on as we work with our colleagues of the State Parks a lot in our day-to-day operations, so this opportunity was well received and Deputy Fire Marshals who took part enjoyed it. As well as this, it gives us invaluable time to spend with members of the community that our agency prides itself on serving, supporting and being a part of."

Overall, it was a very fruitful event and strengthened our commitment to serving the community.
