- Born into a wealthy family in Yokohama, Japan, Rokuro's life was destined to be a silverspoon fed and opulent one. His father, a hardworking businessman, had recently seen his own company rise to success in the local prefecture through shrewd diplomacy and underhanded deals with his old childhood friend - a local crime lord. Together, they enjoyed a mutually beneficial cooperation, but as time went on so did the demands increase. Desperate to salvage the company he had built with his own two hands, Rokuro's father agreed to a unusual offer. The old-friend-turned-adversary was in a similar position - attempting to save a crumbling empire of his own. Increased pressure from the families required the old man to elect a successor to lead the clan in the future - one each family were all too happy to provide themselves. Having no offspring of his own, he found the solution in the Hatanaka family, whom he knew were expecting a child.
On May 4 the following year, Rokuro was born. Initially promised away, his father eventually rescinded the decision - thereby breaking the arrangement. Sympathising with his wife, Rokuro's mother, and all too concerned with the legacy of his company, he smuggled Rokuro away into a temporary foster care until he could smooth things over with his friend. By some miracle, his friend had received word a few days prior that he too were soon to be a father. Overjoyed and no longer concerned with the Hatanaka boy, the crime lord let bygones be bygones. At least for the time being.
Back into the fold and free from worries, Rokuro's education began at a very young age. His father wished for him to take over the company and prepared him day in and day out to be the perfect child - much to the dismay of his elder sister who felt discarded. Stressed and tired of his father's obsession and strict supervisory, Rokuro slowly began to spiral out of control. Whereever possible throughout his adolescence, he sought to do the direct opposite of what he was instructed. Finding new friends in the wrong crowds, many of his already rampaging years through puberty were filled with rebellion and acts of vandalism and degeneracy. His sister, too, rebelled in her own ways - lashing out at her younger brother (whom she saw as the culprit to all her troubles) and conducting herself disgracefully. With his father's only focus being on the company he had made, it all culminated with his mother's demise. Around the same time returned the boss of crime with a revised deal. Having sired a daughter, the families of the clan now demanded he produce a male heir instead - all a ploy to secure power for themselves. The new offer on the table was to arrange a marriage between Rokuro and his own daughter and raise him to be the future heir. Reminded by the broken promise, it didn't leave Rokuro's father with many options besides accepting the terms, but once again he was successful in smuggling Rokuro away - this time under the guise of necessary education. As punishment for his behaviour and to prepare Rokuro for an adult life, he was sent away to a boarding school in the USA.
At the ripe age of 15, Rokuro had no intentions to change anything in his life. Still angry with his family and a teenager through and through, he spent most of the tenure like it was a vacation. Partying, street racing, drinking and smoking, the only responsible thing he did was hold a job simultaneously - which he used to fund his lifestyle and cheat through school. Nothing lasts forever though. As the education came to an end, so did his friends begin to disappear - returning home or pursuing careers. Quickly finding himself alone in a foreign country with no place to call home, he spent the next few months working his butt off to stay away from the streets. One day he was handed a pamphlet detailing the programme and benefits for new residents to Los Santos - flying there with no hesitations. He was intent on having a fresh start in the new city.
Initially stuck in a dingy motel, Rokuro swiftly found employment as a cab driver and a waste collector - picking up trash during the day and transporting people around at night. It was tough, but it was an honest beginning to his new life. Things were looking up, but it didn't take long for his past to catch up with him. Soon after moving to Los Santos, a ghost came to visit him. An old associate of the crime lord had saught him out. It turned out that the man hadn't come to do any harm, in fact, he came seeking help. He had fled the life of crime and were seeking refuge and familiar faces. The two of them quickly bonded over shared experiences and started a small private enterprise together. The man had a fishing background and knew there were money to be made from it, so Rokuro decided to kickstart their project by renting a trawler. Slowly outphasing the jobs as a cab driver and waste collector in order to focus full time on the fishing business, the new friend he had made were making moves of his own. Inspired by something Rokuro had said, the friend came knocking one night with a brochure and a plan. Splitting the profits made from fishing, they used it to fund their flight lessons. The plan his friend had concocted was to become freight pilots - something that could seriously elevate them, figuratively and literally. His friend managed to get through the lessons and exams with flying colours, but Rokuro himself struggled behind. Paying off a debt from the trawler rental and working as a Blackjack dealer on the side, time and money were more of a complication to him. Rokuro never mananged to finish the certificate - exam still pending, but to him he had found something way better in the meantime. During a car show he had overheard a group of people talking about racing - something which is dear to his heart. He couldn't help but barge into the conversation and after a bit of back and fourth, Rokuro had landed a job as the second driver of a new, debutant team in the Los Santos area. With the first race ending relatively well he was offered an apartment to rent through the team which he quickly accepted and moved his fisherman friend in as a roommate. Once again things were looking up, but once more the past came to haunt him. The daughter of his father's friend, the one he was supposed to marry, had been sent to Los Santos, into the care of his roommate. Things were looking grim back home and her father worried for her safety, allegedly, so it were now up to the two friends to be her guardians. With another mouth to feed and the racing season coming to a close, Rokuro found work as a car dealership salesperson. Now juggling three jobs, full-time salesperson, part-time blackjack dealer and training every other day for the new season - Rokuro is desperate to find a more stable source of income with a steady work schedule. His fisher friend had in the meanwhile found employment within a government agency and highly recommended Rokuro to do the same. After scouting a while for jobs that fit the bill, he stumbled upon a career fair hosted by SanFire. Initially ignorant of the agency, he thought them to be another fire department, but throughout the tour and by asking a million questions he learned that there were more to it than meets the eye. He went online to find information concerning the OSFM and inquired the people he knew worked in government about it until he eventually showed up again and again at the following fairs. The job details seemed to fit the bill, checking all the boxes he was looking for. A more stable and predictable schedule with a good fixed salary - no longer having to be paid by commission or sign up for every ad hoc assignment to pay the bills. The pay even seemed good enough that he could retire from racing - giving him a lot more spare time for his two friends and housemates. Worried of his lack of education concerning law enforcement or fire fighting, he steeled himself with the knowledge and confidence that his quick learning and great adaptability would save him on the finish line - sprinkled with his charm. Of course, his fingers were also crossed that he left a good enough impression on the men and women he met that worked there to smooth over any bumps on the road.
