Murrieta Heights Field Incident Statement
Murrieta Heights, Los Santos - At approximately 17:55 on the 4th May 2023, SANFIRE Main control received a call for service for a reported structure fire an abandoned structure on the Murrieta Heights oil field
On arrival, Deputy Fire Marshals approached the scene to find a fully involved structure fire and established a perimeter involving northbound closure of the Elysian Fields Freeway to provide responding Los Santos Fire Department firefighters to engage in fire suppression efforts safely - Ensuring residents were also safe and informed of the incident. The Arson Prevention Team was also in attendance.
Knockdown was declared at 18:46 by the Los Santos Fire Department and the scene was handed over to San Fire for preliminary investigation with Deputy Fire Marshals utilizing an AD Canine for accelerant detection purposes.
At this time the SANFIRE is investigating and treating the incident as a major incident with foul play involved. Potentially linking it to four other incidents within the area and one individual has been detained pending further investigation.
