- Amy Maddox was born on 05/03/1995 within Miami, Florida in which she spent most of her childhood here. Growing up Amy spent a lot of time near the beach due to living close by and so whenever not in school or studying this is where she could usually be found, during this time she took an interest to a lot of water based activities such as surfing and began taking lessons shortly after. This slowly became a hobby and during the hours spent here between classes she got the chance to meet a lot of the local lifeguards of the area, speaking to them and learning more about serving her community and why people do it so at age 14 she enrolled to the junior lifeguard program figuring she could use her passion for swimming for something good. From this point on she spent a lot of time helping out around her community during her teenage years and slowly began to meet and work alongside various people from all sorts of emergency services agencies while serving her time as a junior volunteer lifeguard most notably this being the fire department due to the injuries that sometimes would be faced while working at the beach, at this point and as graduating high school came closer it became clear what Amy wanted to do and upon graduating she moved out to Los Santos. Due to spaces not always being available close to home in her local fire department she finally came to the decision to make a move out to Los Santos upon hearing spaces were available there for a fire department and being invited for an interview.
The move itself was difficult on Amy, she originally struggled to settle in and make new friends being so accustomed to her life back home this lead to her feeling lost and almost as if she had made a mistake. Throughout this transition she had to constantly tell herself it was too late to turn back and so she kept her focus on her goal and began to prepare herself physically and mentally for the challenge ahead until the day for academy finally came not long after Amy was inducted into the Los Santos Fire Department. Starting out wasn't easy Amy struggled with taking in all the information and adapting to a new lifestyle but she also slowly began to make friends that helped and guided her and through this she formed a close knit family and this now was her new home.
Amy continued her career within the LSFD for five years becoming the best Firefighter/Paramedic she could be and serving her community to the best of her ability but this didn't continue for much longer and on April 11th 2020 Amy responded to a call with a close friend and colleague Freddie Martinez regarding a Deputy involved MVA, during the attempt to extricate the deputy the vehicle caught fire with Freddie Martinez still inside. Amy spent the next two hours alongside the rest of the fire department to free Martinez and the deputy from the vehicle engulfed in flames but in the end neither made it out the vehicle alive and Amy watched her best friend die in front of her on the job. It was at this point Amy's mental state began to drop and her motivation for the job diminished losing her once found motivation no longer able to see the work in the same light it wasn't long after this she resigned from her position within the fire department. From this point on she spent the next months mourning her friend and taking time to get herself back together it was at this point she was recommended to the State fire marshal's by an old colleague, this was her chance to possibly find her passion for community service she once had and not let everything she learned from Martinez to go to waste and so Amy applied and is here now to continue her passion.
